When Valiant Comics re-opened their doors in 2008, I am sure a lot of folks didn't know what to think. I know I sure didn't. After much prodding from a friend, I decided to give them a shot and now they are the only company that I get EVERY book from. I have yet to find something bad for them to put out.
THE VALIANT is no exception.
As part of the VALIANT NEXT line of books, it's going to be ushering in a slew of new books such as Ninjak, Bloodshot: Reborn and Ivar, Timwalker.
The book follows the Eternal Warrior, who, for 10,000 years has protected the Earth. During his travels he is guided by the Geomancers - those who talk to the Earth. Over the years, he has failed to protect the Geomancer three different times and it ushered in a dark age for humanity. This time, The Eternal Warrior has to face the Immortal Enemy, but he'll be ready!
The art is just fantastic, the writing it top notch. It is everything that you would want from a Valiant book. This marks Jeff Lemire's first run with Valiant (and hopefully not his last) and could lead to some big ramifications for the Valiant Universe.
The book is available at any comic book retailer on December 10, 2014. If your retailer doesn't carry it, ask them to. It's a great title and I give it, 9 out of 10.
